The pages generally clean. The endpapers and the back of the frontispiece browned. Small brown spots on the frontispiece. The frontispiece and title page a little creased. The edges of the pages ragged and uneven where they have been separated. The edges of the pages browned when the book is closed. The front cover slightly wobbly and an openness between the title page and the first leaf of the text, although the binding not broken. Bound in the publisher¿s green cloth, the spine elaborately decorated in gilt (the standard binding for the English issue of The New York Edition). The binding generally bright, although a little dusty, the corners bumped. Some loss of colour on the corners and the edges of the boards.
