Descripción Kegan Paul Trench Trubner & Co London. No date, 1920. 9¾"x7½". First edition. "With Introduction, Elucidation of the Paintings, aiding the Interpretation of their Occult meaning, Trismosin's Autobiographical Account of his Travels in Search of the Philosopher's Stone, a Summary of his Alchemical Process called 'The Red Lion,' and Explanatory Notes by J.K." 104pp, 22 monochrome plates. Original red cloth, backstrip lettered in gilt, front blindstamped with sun symbol and ruled borders. Backstrip darkened and a little marked. Front cover a little faded towards edges, with patchy grey stain of length about 5.5cm and width up to 2cm, and with other minor markings; rear a little darkened towards inner edge, a little patchily faded towards other edges, and with minor markings. Cover corners a little rubbed; upper corner of front lightly bumped, other corners a little curled. No dust jacket. Edges of text-block toned, top edge also dust-marked. Pastedown sides of flyleaves at both front & rear lightly toned. Text with occasional isolated spots, and occasional light spotting and handling marks mainly confined to fore-edge margins. Fore-edge margins of some plates lightly handling-marked. Plate XII together with Plate XIII detached, with fore- & lower edges a little nicked and quite deeply toned at both rectos and versos (having protruded from text-block for a prolonged period), though only margins affected. Plate XIX together with Plates XX & XXI also detached, with faint toning at edges of margins; Plate XXI also nicked at fore-edge, and with two creases across lower outer corner - one confined to margins, the other passing through lower corner of image.
