With 12-page catalogue for Thomas C Lothian books at the rear. Top edge gilt. Blue cloth boards, lightly rubbed at the spine edges, bright gilt decoration and front board titles with slight fading to spine decoration and titles. The book 'comprises travel letters written to children, and natural history studies; and includes some verse. Although addressed to children, the letters are philosophical and reminiscent and the result is not a children's book.' (Source: Marcie Muir and Kerry White Australian Children's Books (1992-2004).
