104pp , numerous illustrations from photographs, mainly portraits of royalty, officials and indian Princes, the pagination includes approximately 40 pages of advertisements, many with illustrations. rather crudely re-cased in original blue cloth gilt with considerable wear and crude old tape repairs ot the covers and some old tape reapirs to introductory pages, an advertisement has been cut from one page defacing the portrait of King Edward II on the other side, some very tiny pin sized worm holes, not a great example but this a very seldom seen book. After the general introduction, portrait of the Viceroy, Lord Williongdon, Governor of Bengal, Sir John Anderson, etc there is a section devoted largely to the Princes of India with a page of text and a portrait from a photograph on the facing page. These comprise: Hyderabad, Baroda, Maharani of Cooch Behar, Maharani of Baroda, Mysore, Jodhpur, Darbhanga, Rajpipla, Patiala, Travancore, Indore, Morvi, Dharampur, Nawanagar, Aundh, Dhenkenal, Patna, Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Mayurbhanj,Mahmudabad, and the Goverors of Burma [Sir Hugh Lansdown Stephenson], NWF [Sir Ralph Hotchkin], UP [Sir Harry Haiig], Punjab [Sir Edwrd Maclagan], Assam [Sir Michael Krane], Bombay [Lord Brabourne]. The selection of both text and illustration seems strangely random but that is part of the charm of the book and the eclectic choice of Princes results in some interesting illustrations of rulers whio seldom appear in more standard works. Not an invaluable reference work but rather interesting and useful in a piecemeal way. Size: 4to [9 x 11.5ins]. N° de ref. de la librería 007563
