Descripción

This 293 page First American Edition Stated, an increasingly well respected and applauded offering is proudly presented in both the publishers original binding and original dustwrapper. The binding is original yellow cloth with gilt titling on spine. The pictorial jacket is mint, save for one 1/8 inchcrack at one corner, and some very mild and very uniform smudge smudging. A story of ideas in which two companions, traveling and talking together, explore the hopes and dreams that animate both them and the people they encounter. Set in almost uninhabitable regions of Central Australia, this books asks and tries to answer these questions; Why is man the most restless, dissatisfied of animals? Why do wandering people conceive the world as perfect whereas sedentary ones always try to change it? Why have the great teachers--Christ or the Buddha--recommended the Road as the way to salvation? Do we agree with Pascal that all man's troubles stem from his inability to sit quietly in a room? But enough said of the telluric parameters of select Hirschfeld Galleries' offerings which take on a life of their own and speak so very loudly for themselves. Read to learn and enjoy; go forth to share and enjoin. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 005853
