Acerca de

SOLDIER BOY is George K. Zak's riveting account of danger and survival during World War II. At the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge, the author's untried infantry division was overwhelmed by the Germans in a fierce battle. After sustaining many casualties, and in a hopeless situation, Zak's regiment was ordered to surrender by its commander. The book then recounts his ordeal as a prisoner of war deep inside Germany.

About the Author:

After a recuperation leave and discharge from the army, George K. Zak earned a B.A. degree with honors and an M.A. degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He eventually became the manager of corporate banking for a large retail firm. Once a year, on the date of his liberation, George joins other local survivors of Stalag IV-B to celebrate their survival and to honor the memory of those who had died.
