Welsh-born Henry Morgan was one of the most famed and feared pirates of the Caribbean and he lived a life of extrordiniary peaks and troughs. For all his violence and barbarity against his conquests, including women and children, he later became Sir Henry and appointed Governor of Jamaica, only to be sacked in 1681, although when he died a few years later he was afforded a State funeral in Port Royal. This is an informative biography of an infamous pirate, politician, knight and governor by a Caribbean historian. 165 pages, six b/w art plates. Front card cover has colour art portrait of Morgan, small sections missing spine extremities, light creasing along front hinge, text block excellent, no inscriptions.
