No 143 of 1500 copies signed by illustrator. Decorated cloth both covers and spine, gilt lettering front cover and spine. Slip case has spine label, damp stains top and bottom edges, book unaffected. Page tops gilt edged. Uncut page sides and bottoms. Colored illustrations are water color reproductions, full page and partial page. Measures 9 1/4 x 11 1/2. In the Introduction, Ernest Boyd notes that the author was an "outstanding French man of letters".
