Page 218 219, number 71: . . . A satire on the habit of the Hasidim to indulge in drinking in the Synagogue, written in the style of Caro's code. Czernowitz 1881. 12mo. 20f. In a private communication of July 23, 1903, Mr. David Apotheker (see above, nos. 5 10) informed me that he wrote and printed his parody while residing at Husiatyn, Galicia, in the neighborhood of Reb. Motele (?) and fearing to provoke the anger of the Hasidim he chose to write under the above pseudonym Cohen HADFUS HAIVRI BETCHERNOWITZ in ARESHET. volume 3, page 338, number 196. . . . Friedberg, BET EKED SFARIM 2nd edition, page 1122, number 1794, and A.M. Haberman, SHAAREY CHABAD (in Aley Ayin. Yud. Nun. in honor of S. Z. Schocken) page 365, attribute this parody to David Apoteker, but Marcus' supposition is more likely (HATZOFE Mem Lamed, Tishrey, 1957) that R. Shlomo Yehuda Leib Friedlander, the forger of Kodashim Tractate of the Jerusalem Talmud is the author. N° de ref. del artículo 016248
