Sinopsis: Three young people are caught up in the intrigue of Richmond, capital of the Confederacy, as it struggles to survive the Union onslaught of 1862. One, a wounded officer, longs to return to the cavalry and chafes at his assignment to convict and hang Union spies. Another, a young preacher sent to minister to the Confederate troops, finds himself entangled in the net cast by the first. The third, an attractive young woman, returns to Richmond to make her debut in society again after losing her fiancé to the war. She must choose between the two men. All the while, a wealthy Richmond socialite operates just beyond the cavalry officer’s net, watches his every move, and does much to control his actions. This story explores the sometimes conflicting roles of loyalty to country and loyalty to oneself. The story also introduces the importance of women spies during this tumultuous time in America’s history.
