Acerca de

Fine cloth copy in a near-fine, very slightly edge-nicked and dust-dulled dw, now mylar-sleeved. Remains particularly and surprisingly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong.; 319 pages; Physical description: 319 p. ; 24 cm. Courageous troop will be decided by the sabre's edge. Summary: The year is 1824; the Sixth Light Dragoons are still stationed in India, and the talk in the officer's mess is of war. Border skirmishes with the Burmese are becoming more common and across the country in Rajputana, a dispute over succession sends war fever sweeping through the provinces. Review: Allan Mallinson gets better and better with his novels about Matthew Hervey and the Light Dragoons. The characters are very well observed, the stories first class and all are packed with action. In his latest, the year is 1824 and the place India. (Kirkus UK). Subjects: Great Britain. Army. Regiment of Light Dragoons, 6th - Fiction. Hervey, Matthew (Fictitious character) - Fiction. India - History - British occupation, 1765-1947 - Fiction.

Allan Mallinson gets better and better with his novels about Matthew Hervey and the Light Dragoons. The characters are very well observed, the stories first class and all are packed with action. In his latest, the year is 1824 and the place India. The Burmese are encroaching on company land and in Bhurtpoor the rightful claimant to the throne has been forced out by one Duryan Sal. It all looks very bad, and will undoubtedly test Hervey and his newly blooded troops to the limit. Duryan Sal has taken refuge in the fortress of Bhurtpoor and must be routed. This latest novel will delight his many fans and increase the readership, I feel certain. A superb tale.
