"This book is a compilation of the many poems written by members of the Davison family. Not all of the poems of all members are contained herein except for Laurel Davison who is now deceased. Laurel was a school teacher for over forty years and a coach for nearly twenty years. About twenty of his last years were on Washington Island, Wisconsin. His early poetry tened to be family and sports oriented. After moving to 'The Island', most of his poetry reflected the life and times of the Island. A brief geographical sketch of Washington Island is essential to the understanding and the appreciation of this poetry and introduces his work. Two sisters and a brother of Laurel's are represented in the book. Merle, the second eldest, and Melba, the youngest, and Ardyth, nest to the youngest. Only Merle and Melba ranged afield. Melba lived in Alaska, Idaho, Indiana and Minnesota. Merle spent thirty years in Alabama working in the steel industry. Laurel's two eldest sons, Verle, the oldest, and Arlie, represented the second generation. Verle has lived in Illinois for nearly forty years. He has also traveled abroad. The third generation has Arlie's eldest, Anne, a daughter, and his second, Scott, a son, each with a single contribution. Scott has lived in Vermont since graduating college. The eldest daughter of Laurel's third son, Darryl, rounds out that generation. The final contributor, Jacob Glass is the grandson of Verle. He was seven years of age when he wrote his lyrics." This book has 261 pages and is illustrated throughout. The book is a SIGNED PRESENTATION copy from the author, V. L. Davison. N° de ref. de la librería 058987
