A beautiful example of a early Edwardian Florence style bespoke Vellum bindings with gold blocking to boards and spine. From the library of Edith Madge Barling b1888, one of two daughter of Sir Harry Gilbert Barling 1855-1940 and Katharine Jaffray. Sir Gilbert Barling was surgeon at the General Hospital, Birmingham, 1891-1915, Professor of Surgery, University of Birmingham 1893-1912 and then vice-chancellor and then pro-chancellor, 1913-33 Books are very good and in bright condition. Light soiling to vellum. Nice tight hinges. Contents good.Early pages quite foxed. Page edges foxed. Bookplates to endpapers. More images can be taken upon request. Ref17076. All overseas orders with priority shipping (8 days+) will be sent by either tracked airsure or international signed for. The slower postal rates (14 days +) will be sent by standard airmail and will take longer to arrive. We recommend to all our customers to use the priority shipping as this is a much quicker and secure method of shipment.
