Sinopsis: One night in Rock Creek Park an undercover cop, Sooty Settles, dies from a self-inflicted gunshot wound amid the cherry blossoms of Washington,DC - the price a good cop paid for going on the down-low. But his widow, Etta, isn't buying it. Her husband has been murdered -- executed! At her request, Frank Rococo, a retail loss prevention specialist who catches shoplifters for a living begins his amateur investigation...Etta completely unaware that it was Rococo who shot Det. Settles in the chest that night using a Colt .45 revolver although the autopsy makes no mention of a chest wound; only that death resulted from a headshot with a bullet fired from a .38 Special. Such inconsistencies nag Rococo's "gut" as he uncovers even bigger clues until the situation he's facing proves far greater than anyone could have possibly suspected: the gatekeeper of corruption to Capitol Hill conspires to control the order of political chaos in precipitating a meltdown of the U.S. financial system by detonating a fiscal time-bomb on Wall Street. But the real surprise for Rococo...is who killed Sooty Settles.
