Descripción:

First UK edition, hardback bound in the original black cloth with printed titling to spine. 19 × 13cm, 279pp. Colette captures that precious, painful moment when childhood retreats at the onslaught of dawning knowledge and desire. Philippe and Vinca are childhood friends. In the glowing days and mist-filled nights of late summer on the Brittany coast, their deep-rooted love for each other loses its childhood simplicity. Philippe is destined to learn from experience, while Vinca, like all women the world over, is blessed, or cursed, with instinctive powers of perception and wisdom. This book is also known as The Ripening Seed. Condition: A good copy. The black cloth is a little rubbed and bumped to the edges and has a surface water stain running across the lower quarter of the front boards (this has taken the sheen off). The endpapers are browned but the main body of text is in very good, clean condition. N° de ref. de la librería
