(2), [iii]-viii, [1]-203, followed by pp. [i]-viii, (1), 2-474, being the Correspondence. 4to, half maroon calf, marbled boards with matching endpapers, raised bands, gilt titles to spine, all edges red speckled. A lengthy report reviewing every aspect of the University, including the office of the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, the Statutes regulating the Degrees offered, the various professorships, the large number of facilities available such as laboratories, museums, the library and the University Press, in addition to information on King's College and Trinity Hall. It is stated at the beginning of the report: "We, your Majesty's Commissioners, appointed to inquire into the State, Discipline, Studies, and Revenues of the University and Colleges of Cambridge, humbly beg to submit to Your Majesty the results of the inquiries made by us in obedience to Your Majesty's command." Spine sunned to brown, rubbing to the bands and spine ends, corners and fore-edges with some wear, paper covered boards well worn with some small abrasions to the front, tape repair to the first blank under the owner's pencilled signature.
