Sinopsis: The book reproduces fifty-two memorials in Latin taken from churches situated largely, but not exclusively, in the West Country. Each memorial is accompanied by a translation and by notes on the grammar. The book is aimed at everyone who would like to be able to read Latin epitaphs in churches, and whose knowledge of the language may be sketchy.
Biografía del autor: John Parker is a retired teacher and has published three other books: Crossnumbers (1993), The Platonic Solids (2002) and Ad Hoc, Ad Lib, Ad Nauseam (2008). He also contributes to Ad Familiares the journal of 'Friends of the Classics', which aims to disseminate the classics to the wider population.
