Facsimile Reprint of the 1805 first edition, featuring a frontispiece and 18 other full page coloured plates, printed by the Scolar Press in 6 colours and originally 'engraved by William Pickett, and coloured by John Clarke'. 'Reproduced in facsimile by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust to commemorate the Bicentenary of the building of the World's first Iron Bridge in 1779 over the River Severn in Shropshire'. Descriptive text in parallel French and English. A mint [as new] copy, recently bound up from the Scolar Press sheets in quarter burgundy cloth over marbled boards with a leather label with gilt titles on the front board and black endpapers. This facsimile edition was created to commemorate the Bicentenary of the building of the World's first Iron Bridge in 1779 over the River Severn in Shropshire.
