Editorial: John Arrowsmith, London
Año de publicación: 1850
Hand coloured map by John Arrowsmith. 43 x 56cm. 4 folds. Plan of the proposed railway connecting Port Elliot with River Murray. With 2 relief profiles. This was the first railway in Australia (built in 1854). It was established to provide an harbour for ocean-going ships to exchange cargo with river boats at Goolwa, as the Murray mouth was too treacherous and unpredictable for safe navigation.
