Acerca de

Quest for a Classic Winner is best known for its study of the dominant influence of "Elite" mares and author Ken McLean's Elite Family Charts. McLean identifies the 23 foundation mares of the Thoroughbred and charts the descendants of the 130 Elite mares in these families. McLean has analyzed the work of the great Thoroughbred breeders in detailed, insightful chapters describing their mating selections, the history of the stud, the pedigrees and achievements of major horses bred and more.

Biografía del autor:

Ken McLean is an international pedigree consultant. Among his current clients is Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al-Maktoum, ruler of Dubai. He now lives in Australia after spending time in Kentucky where he helped establish foundation stock for Overbrook Farm and managed the farm's high-profile stallion Storm Cat in his first three years. He is the author of three Thoroughbred breeding books: Tesio - Master of Matings, Quest for a Classic Winner and Genetic Heritage. In the past nine years his advice to clients regarding mare matings produced more than 200 stakes winners and 11 champions.
