Very clean and crisp broadside (letterpress). No foxing 16" x 22" broadside satifising the fall of James II of England in the Glorious Revolution of 1688 in which the British invited William of Orange at the head of an army from Nethlerlands to oust James and replalce him as King. Both James II and his grandson attempted unsuccesfully to regain the Monarchy. .'James II sick in bed, wearing a Jesuit's cap and a crown, vomiting numerous reptiles which wear crowns, tiaras, cardinals' hats, and mitres, at the bedside to the right the Chancellor, Lord Mayor, and Aldermen holding their noses and turning away, on the left side of the bed a double-faced physician feeling the king's pulse and holding a urine sample against the light, on the very L Father Petre receiving a passport and being pushed away, in the left foreground a monk talking to a nurses holding the infant Prince James, in the R foreground the Queen, Mary of Modena, sitting, in the R background an archway with a view onto a coastal landscape with a sunrise and the Dutch fleet embarking from the Netherlands; with engraved Latin title and Latin and Dutch inscriptions, and with Dutch letterpress verses, including legend, in three columns' BM Satires 1174, Muller 2767.
