This epic WWII story recounts 'W A Jones' amazing experiences on the German raider "Kormoran" and as a prisoner of war in Germany.' Syd Jones narrated his extraordinary tale to James Taylor when he returned to Australia, the first of the prisoners from SS Mareeba, sunk bythe German raider Kormoran early in 1941, to do so after being repatriated from a POW camp. It was the Kormoran which later sank the cruiser HMAS Sydney off Western Ausyralia in an action in which both ships were lost, in an action which remains controversial to this day. Syd Jones' has a remarkable story to tell and his collaboration with James Taylor proved to be a rewarding one.
