No matter how you choose to interpreted Madame Blavatsky and her work to achieve the Theosophical Society, all the ingredients for any particular view of her are provided by Blavatsky herself. Was she some sort of rogue philosopher dedicated on bringing eastern ideas to America? Yep. Was she involved in scandals and deceptive practices? Sure. Was she one of the most influential and powerful women of modern times? Absolutely. Every author that does a biography on her, brings a different view of this woman, depending on their own attitudes and belief systems. The result is that every biography of her brings to light different facets of her personality and work. Some of the views would be entirely acceptable to the Theosophical Society. Some would not. A mother would see her child differently than say, an employer, a husband, a friend, or a confidant. Every author has a different relationship with their subject, and thus see them uniquely, but within the "truth" of their vision. In this volume, the author Gertrude Marvin Williams, comes to Blavatsky through the doorway of India. Fascinated with India and its culture the author spent much time their and wrote a book "Understanding India". Well, you can't dig too far into India's spiritual history without digging up Blavatsky and her followers. Her researches took her to Anne Besant, past leader of the Theosophical Society. She amassed much information and inspiration for this book. Her ultimate conclusion: Through all her deceptions and fraud, Madame Blavatsky, still believed in the presence of masters that serve to guide the human race. N° de ref. de la librería 1822
