Título: A Plunge into Space. Second [and Best] ...
Año de publicación: 1891
Edición: 1st Edition
8vo., Second and Best Edition, with a frontispiece (original tissue guard present) and large title-vignette, long, neat contemporary prize inscription on front free endpaper verso; original light tan pictorial cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in gilt, silver, blue and black, upper half of upper and lower boards faded to near-white (but title lettering still legible), lower half age-soiled, backstrip faded (but gilt lettering just legible), brown patterned endpapers, hinges cracked (but binding entirely sound), a very good, clean, firm copy in worn and faded publisher's binding. With 8pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. Although the publisher's original binding is worn and faded, this is still an above-average copy of a classic and much sought-after early work of science fiction. We have never seen (or heard of) a really good copy in the original binding. The is the first (and only) edition with the preface by Jules Verne, to whom the work is dedicated. This preface is not present in the first edition of 1890. EXTREMELY SCARCE. This edition is not listed in BLPC. N° de ref. de la librería 18792
