Agency script for the 1968 film. Based on the 1963 novel "Planet of the Apes (La Planete des Singes)" by Pierre Boulle. The last draft of the script, including the final page in which Charlton Heston comes upon the Statue of Liberty buried in the sand and yells "My God!" in horror at his realization. A seminal science fiction film, basis for 4 feature film sequels between 1970-1973, a television series between 1974-1981, and three recent remakes (2001, 2011, and 2014), depicting a world that, due to misuse of technology and medicine, deconstructs to a place where apes rule and men are hunted. "Planet of the Apes" was nominated for three Academy Awards, winning one for outstanding make-up and costume. Shot on location in California, Utah, and Arizona. Orange titled wrappers, noted as Shooting Script on the front wrapper, dated 05/05/67, with credits for screenwriter Michael Wilson.
