Independently of its Newtonian interest, the work is of importance for illustrating a number of physical apparatus then in use'- Bibliotheca Chemico-Mathematica. Vol. I, pp. [26],345,[5]; Vol. II, pp. [8],199,[13]. With 72 folding engraved copper plates & a folding letterpress table. Some occasional toning to a few text leaves, including the titles, a handful of plates close cropped to the engraved margin. An excellent copy bound in contemporary Dutch calf, the spine in six panels, gilt, with label. Very lightly rubbed. Contemporary ownership inscription to title & engraved continental bookplate of Nordkirchen. VG.
