Descripción:

80pp. The first edition was originally written, printed and published [1922] by Bird as a training piece, when he apprenticed himself to a French journalist and printer called Roger Devigne. The book's 2nd printing took place between 1922 and December 1925, while this 3rd printing was done by Maurice Servant of the Lecram Press and published before 1928 and the demise of the Three Mountains Press. There were no further printings of the book until it was printed and published commercially by the French government in 1945. Illustrated with several black and white maps. SIGNED holograph inscription from William Bird to F. W. Mansfield - possibly Frederick William Mansfield, American politician and 46th Mayor of Boston [1934 to 1938] - "who has kept young drinking wine with the author's admiration". The initial three printings of this lovely little booklet are likely to have been in small numbers and Bill Bird inscriptions are uncommon. Some slight edge rubbing, else a very good copy of a scarce item in publisher's original soft card covers. 24mo. N° de ref. de la librería
