This book was published to be a companion volume to this magnificent volume which is an excellent catalogue of an important collection of Chinese porcelains in the Ardebil (also spelled Ardabil) in Northwest Iran but is also a major contribution to the understanding of Ming wares as a whole. The Sheikh Safi al-Din Khanegah and Shrine Ensemble in Ardabil is a Sufi spiritual retreat dating from between the early 16th century and late 18th century. It is the burial site of Safi al-Din Ardabil )b. 1252/53), the eponymous founder of the Safawiyya order of Surism. Published in illustrated covers; which show noticeable fading to front top section and minor moisture staining to top edge of rear; interior pages all clean and free of marks or damage.
