Second Edition. Octavo, original boards, printed orange spine. Early ownership signature of Quartus Hawks (1820), a notable citizen of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Full title continues: When a Number of Citizens Were Killed by a Party of British Troops, Quartered Among Them, in a Time of Peace. Second collected edition, first published in 1785. Dramatic speeches given annually from 1771 to 1783 commemorating those who had died at the hands of British troops on March 5, 1770. Collects the impassioned speeches by John Hancock, Peter Thacher, Joseph Warren, and other notables which roused the spirit of liberty that led to popular support for separation from England. See Evans 18997 and Sabin 6737 for reference. Extremely uncommon in any edition, this 1807 title appears to be especially uncommon. Very Good, spine has horizontal and vertical cracks as one might expect for this type of binding in which the spine is simply printed paper. N° de ref. de la librería 26409
