Small nick/closed tear to front card fore-edge. Pages x + 40. The Oratorio delivered by Gysbert Hemmy at the Hamburg Academy in 1767, and printed later that year, is probably the first published account of the Cape of Good Hope by a Cape-born man. The copy from which the facsimile in the present work has been reproduced was translated by Professor KD White who turned it into colloquial English and added a number of explanatory notes.
