Frontis portrait; folding pew chart; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Unusual collection of 3 Old South Church (Boston) titles, bound together in one volume. Various dates and publishers. Snugly bound in late 19th century green cloth with titles professionally struck in gilt to spine. Has the look and feel of a trade binding. Title at spine - Old South Poor Fund // Ballard. 232; 46; 122 pp. "Account of the Poor Fund" published by George C Rand & Avery 1868, with tissue guarded lithograph frontis portrait of Ballard. Bound in following the "Poor Fund" volume is the uncommon pamphlet, "Reasons for the appointment of a committee to investigate the prudential affairs of the Old South Church in Boston : to which are added copies of Mrs. Norton's deeds" with an introduction by Ballard dated 1859. 46 pp. Title page does not record printer or date. Bound in as the 3rd volume is Wisner's "History of the Old South Church . In four sermons." Published by Crocker & Brewster 1830 - 1st edition. Title page bound in. Includes the "Folding Plan of the Lower Floor of the Old South Meeting House 1730" with names assigned to Pews. Slick brown lining pages clean and intact. Manuscript ownership of Uriel Crocker to the top edge of the title page. Crocker was the principla and founder of the Crocker & Brewster publishing house of Boston. His daughter - Sarah H. Crocker's bookplate mounted to front pastedown. Contents bright and clean. Boards lightly bumped at corners with mild bruising and abrasion; trace fray to cloth at spine ends. A striking collection of important histories regarding one of the most important congregational meeting houses in American history with a pleasing association from one of its very active mid 19th century members, publisher Uriel Crocker.
