Covers very worn, moderate insect erosion, soiled, spine darkened and tips bumped and worn, attractive bookplate, inner hinges and textblock cracked, endpapers toned, contents have light soiling and spotting. Extra photographic examples clipped from various sources have been pasted to the back of several of plates (covers up one inscription), the bookplate bears the name of Eleanor Newhall with the date of 1911. She was a lacemaker and two examples of her Italian needlepoint lace, Peacocks and Four Seasons, are in the collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts. SCARCE. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. SWAF.
