Endpaper maps in volume one. Volume One is dated 1953 and volume two is dated 1956. Wear and tear to edges of dust jackets of both volumes. Armorial bookplates in each volume. very good Volume I "deals with the organization, development and campaigns of the armed forces' medical and dental services, together with the contribution of civilian services connected with medical aspects of the war effort." (inside cover). Volume II covers the broad sweeping advancements in medicine made during the war by Canadian professionals in the service. Such leaps include "the advent of modern techniques in surgery, made possible by the use of antibiotics and improved methods in anaesthesia, the introduction of early ambulation after surgery combined with proper rehabilitation and the application of improved immunization practices."
