Descripción

xiv & 154 pages; Contemporary pattern-printed green boards with cloth spine. With 109 illustrations on 8 folding lithographed plates. Somewhat foxed throughout, edges of the boards worn and rubbed. There is an ink numeral "69" on the half title, and the same number is printed on a label mounted to the spine (which is otherwise unmarked). Probably an item number for a private library or collection, which is not identified -- no marks of any sort on the book. A scarce and interesting treatise on fruit culture, written by the Bohemian botanist Franz Josst (1815-1862). The author also wrote an 1851 monograph on orchids: " Beschreibung und Cultur Orchideen." He appears on The International Plant Names Index. Josst is also known as an illustrator on botanical subjects. This second edition was published a few months after the first edition. Text in German (printed in Fraktur). OCLC Number: 315853555 (six locations, two in the USA). N° de ref. de la librería 39610
