Acerca de

Sinopsis:

Obsidian Point chronicles one man's continuing spiritual quest as he revisits Mt. Hornaday in the Beartooth Range of northern Wyoming over a sixteen year period.

There is keen observation of both the exterior and interior world, and the language and rhythms of the backcountry abound and are finely tuned.

As with other books in this tradition, Obsidian Point is a record of a journey but also a map for future travelers.

About the Author:

Ken McCullough's most recent books are Travelling Light (1987), and Sycamore . Oriole (1991).

He has received numerous awards for his poetry including the Academy of American Poets Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, a Pablo Neruda Award, a Galway Kinnell Poetry Prize, the New Millennium Poetry Award and the Capricorn Book Award.

Recently, he received grants from the Witter Bynner Foundation for Poetry, the Iowa Arts Council, and the Jerome Foundation to continue translating the work of Cambodian poet U Sam Oeur.

Sacred Vows, a bilingual edition of U's poetry with McCullough's translations, was published in 1998. At present, McCullough and U are working on U's autobiography, Crossing Three Wildernesses.

McCullough lives in Winona, Minnesota. He was adopted into the Minconjou band of the Lakota Nation in 1993.
