He was Maryland's first Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, has served as chair of four gubernatorial commissions, and has acted as health advisor to presidents and governors. He has appeared on television and radio talk shows, provided daily medical commentaries on CNN-TV, and for 18 years wrote a globally syndicated health advice column for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate.

Dr. Solomon is an established best-selling author (including having been on the New York Times best-selling list), and has been featured in numerous national magazines. Currently, Dr. Solomon works as a global nutritional consultant, serving corporations, nongovernment organizations of the United Nations, and the World Health Organization. Dr. Solomon is married; he and his wife have three sons.
