VOLUME THREE ONLY 192pp., adverts at rear, Illustrated Quarterly March 1909 Vol III No.17 bound into rear, Illustrated Quarterly original prospectus for th series loose at rear, a few pages of lined paper bound in at front and rear, red half leather and cloth, back board soiled, front joint of spine cracked, spine slightly rubbed, gilt top edge, b&w images within, folding chart, pages clean throughout. The recording of events and places in the county has always depended on the hard work and good scholarship of a few devoted souls. This has been particularly the case with Northamptonshire Notes and Queries which was first started in the 1800s. As the enthusiasm and age of each editor came and went so fared the fortunes of the magazine. Christopher Markham published a number of books on Gold and Silver and particularly Pewter. He also edited the Records of the Borough of Northampton and other books on the county, as well as editing this third series of Notes and Queries. Size: 8.75" x 5.75".
