Imprint: Later ([1975] FACSIMILE edition of a booklet published 100 years earlier in Iceland, for the edification of Icelandic emigrants to western Canada. Original publication was in Ottawa : Kanadastjórn, 1875. Description: 24 pages; 16 cm. Cont. I. Skýrslu herra Jóns Taylors, umboðsmanns stjórnarinnar. -- II. Skýrslu sendimanna nokkurra Íslendinga, er fluttu út 1874. Subjects: Söguleg landafræði ; immigration; western Icelanders; Vestur-Íslendingar; Kanada/Canada; Icelandic-Canadians; settlers. Fine in flexible leatherette covers. This later printing does not include the fold-out map showing trade routes between Iceland and Canada that was is present in the original - but this is intentional on the part of the publisher - i.e., this facsimele issue is complete, as published. It is an Icelandc-language booklet of testemonials and information on Canada designed by the Canadian Department of Agriculture to encourage Icelanders to emigrate to Canada. Hjartar, on p. 35. suggests that this facsimle edition was publised in Akureyri, Iceland in 1975.
