Publisher's full black cloth, gilt lettering, and decoration by Beardsley on spines and covers, black endpapers. Illustrated with numerous B&W drawings by Aubrey Beardsley. This is the fifth edition, being a facsimile of the fourth edition (published in 1972), and includes the Introduction written by Professor John Rhys in 1893, a Note on Aubrey Beardsley by Aymer Vallance written in 1927, a revised Publisher's Note by F. J. Martin Dent, as well as ten drawings that did not appear in Dent's earlier edition. The text is as written by Sir Thomas Malory and imprinted by William Caxton at Westminster in 1485, and now spelled in the modern style, and embellished with many original designs by Aubrey Beardsley. Also includes detailed Notes on the Text Used as well as a Glossary. A handsome volume. . Both the volume and the unclipped dust jacket are in perfect, pristine condition, except for a small, former owner's sticker on the fep, else as new. NEAR FINE/AS NEW.
