First Edition. With a photo-portrait frontispiece of Eugene Vinaver, a bibliography of the works of Vinaver, notes. Cloth with printed dust-jacket. This is a de-accessioned library copy, but with minimal library markings. The cover of the book does not have any catalog markings. The dustwrapper has catalog number on the spine. A fine copy with a minimum of shelf-wear ( End-papaers have been neatened ) The dust-jacket is in fine condition with little wear ( Slightly faded spine ) It is protected by a new, non-library, acid-free mylar jacket. An excellent copy. Professor Eugene Vinaver a pupil of the great scholar and humanist, Joseph Bidier was himself a great scholar and reader in French at oxford and professor of French Language and Literature at Manchester where he was head of that department for thirty years. In 1966 he was presented and honorary volume to celebrate his contributions to medieval scholarship. The present volume is complementary to that and celebrates his modern scholarship.
