Illustrated with drawings and explanatory diagrams. Classic work on coin tricks authored by the self-styled "King of Koins". A very nice example of this scarce work, tight and clean with a touch of minor wear at the spine ends and a very small light stain along the outer edge of the front cloth. Inscription on front flyleaf reads "From A.G. / James Sherman 1907" This copy might very well have belonged to Jim Sherman (1888-1972, owner of the famed National Magic Company in Chicago.) Original red pictorial cloth with gilt titles, silver coin image and additional black lettering on cover. Overall good, but there are some water stains and general wear to cloth. Original endpapers, no restoration and in reasonably sound condition. Standard age-toning to paper. 246 pages plus an extensive number of ads for various magic suppliers including Downs himself.
