Aero modelling has come a long way since this edition in the Boy's Own Paper series of "How To Make" booklets appeared. There are two sections to the book --- Flying Machines and Kites. the first has six chapters covering flying machines, gliders, hydroplanes and an airship, ranging from simple to quite complex powered versions. most of the illustrations relate to relatively early, pre-WWI, aircraft similar to the Wright Brothers, Bleriot and even earlier machines. The kite section has 10 chapters, again with simple to quite complex designs, including several enthic variations. The book is illustrated throughout with drawings, sketches and diagrams. The book is undated and is probably a first edition of about 1920. 192 pages, nine pages adverts including back cover. The papered heavy card covers have drawing to illustrate front/advert at back. There is a stain extending in from the front spine hinge to a maximum point of six cms, corners bumped and worn, a 6cm section of the spine adjacent rear hinge is worn through creating a small flap, short tear lower edge FFEP (adverts both sides), apart from a few unobtrusive marks the text block is VG. A rare treasure for the aero modeller. N° de ref. del artículo 003872
