Sinopsis:

In 1942, Herbert and Hilda Boucher, German Jews who had sought refuge in the Netherlands, went into hiding. This is the extraordinary story of the Bouchers, their extended family and friends, who hid for nearly three years, determined to escape death at the hands of the Nazis.

Courageous Dutch citizens, refusing to stand silent in the face of the Nazi brutality, provided their homes as sanctuaries for Jews and members of the Dutch Underground. The Bouchers worked with their rescuers to cleverly devise secret rooms, escape routes, and false ID cards; with ingenuity, perseverance and luck, they miraculously survived repeated Nazi raids and mass deportations of Jews to concentration camps.

Miracle of Survival, illustrated with photos and historical documents, is a tribute to the altruistic Dutch rescuers-neighbors and strangers-who risked their lives and the lives of their families to save the persecuted. The dramatic accounts in this book inspire and caution us to remember the Holocaust.
