Descripción ReInk Books, 2017. Softcover. Estado de conservación: NEW. Reprinted from edition. NO changes have been made to the original text. This is NOT a retyped or an ocr'd reprint. Illustrations, Index, if any, are included in black and white. Each page is checked manually before printing. As this reprint is from very old book, there could be some missing or flawed pages, but we always try to make the book as complete as possible. Fold-outs, if any, are not part of the book. If the original book was published in multiple volumes then this reprint is of only one volume, not the whole set. This paperback book is SEWN, where the book block is actually sewn (smythe sewn/section sewn) with thread before binding which results in a more durable type of paperback binding. It can also be open wide. The pages will not fall out and will be around for a lot longer than normal paperbacks. This print on demand book is printed on high quality acid-free paper. Descripción United States of America, Washington DC, 1860. Cloth. Estado de conservación: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Custom Clear Mylar. First Edition. 570 pages. First Edition. Original brown blind-stamped cloth binding. Octavo. This volume contains the Message of President Buchanan with the report of the Secrectary of the Interior included. President Buchanan was a Democrat who was elected to the Presidency in a three-way race with Millard Fillmore and John C. Fremont. Fremont had run as a Republican and an abolitionist. The Message of Presidnet Buchanan herein is important as it discusses in detail the schism in the Country over the issue of slavery. The intractable positions discussed by Buchanan presage the impending Civil War and is important for that reason. The Report from the Secretary of the Interior is historically useful in describing the Native American situation as it existed in 1860. This copy has edgewear and chipping aat the spine ends; still, a Very Good or better copy, and now in a custom clear mylar protectve jacket.
