Second edition. 8vo. Illustrated with 18 plates with original hand-color, drawn and etched by Henry Alken and T.J. Rawlins, aquatinted by Edward Duncan, additional engraved title with aquatint vignette. Full dark green crushed morocco, gilt fillet borders, neatly rebacked with original spine laid down, gilt-tooled in compartments, gilt dentelles, front doublure consisting of the original pictorially gilt-stamped pebbled green cloth front cover, all edges gilt, spine and tops and margins of covers sunned to brown, minor shelfwear to edges; rear hinge starting. This edition has six (of 12) plates carried over from the first edition, three new plates replacing the corresponding ones from the first edition, and six further additional plates not found in the first edition. With the leaf "List of Plates" and 6 pages of advertisements at end. Plates bright and unfaded, with negligible marginal soiling, not effecting images. Provenance: Otis Skinner Blodget.
