Bound in dark green plain cloth with green leather spine edge. Gilt lettering to spine edge. Usual bumps and rubs to extremities with spine edge sun bleached and leather to spine edge scratched with some leather peeled. Seven plates including the frontis and a multi-folding map, 147 text illustrations. Original maroon quarter morocco, green cloth, gilt, top edge gilt. One inch splits to the head of the upper and lower joints, some foxing, tanning of the plate tissues, paper wrinkled on the slightly shaken lower hinge otherwise a VG+ copy with a sheet of the Author's notepaper headed Mount St. Bernard, Ballinasloe pasted on the front pastedown and with the following note on it "The author has much pleasure in presenting a copy of this work to Mrs Smyth of Masonbrook, Loughrea" First edition.
