About the Author:

Jack Hranicky has been in archaeology since the 1960s, and he is a charter member on the Registry of Professional Archaeologists (RPA). He has published over 200 papers and written over 20 books. He is well-known for his lithic artifact publications. His projectile point typology book is a standard in archaeology. He has served as president of the Eastern States Archeological Federation, the Archeological Society of Virginia, and served as the chairman of the Alexandria (Virginia) Archaeological Commission. For those who wish to master American Indian toolmaking, his experimental archaeology is an excellent starting place.
