Sinopsis: Pineapple marketing plays a pivot role in fostering and sustaining the tempo of rural development. It assumes greater economic importance in the international market and earns substantial foreign exchange to the nation as a whole. It is apparent that apart from the economic importance of pineapple production, it has got greater potentiality in generative income and employment at farm level. This book has signify and confirm the economics of pineapple marketing for improving market infrastructure, direct and group marketing, establishment of modern marketing and processing units, market integration and the improvement of the overall efficiency of the marketing system. I hope the finding of the present marketing study would go a long way in guiding the policy makers, administrators, economists, researchers and extension workers to develop, such policies and programmes which would help the stakeholders in raising their level of production and income. I hope that this will be a useful addition to the discipline of agricultural marketing.

Biografía del autor: Dr. Lakshmi Dhar Hatai did his Ph. D. in Agricultural Economics from Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He is presently working as Assistant Professor (Agricultural Economics) in College of Home Science, Central Agricultural University, Tura, Meghalaya and actively involved on teaching, research & extension.
