Editorial: Samuel Wood and Son, N.Y.
Año de publicación: 1832
Encuadernación: Half Cloth, Paper-Covered Bds

viii, 120p., frontispiece with four figures. A good copy, spine has been covered and reinforced with black vinyl electrical tape, the forecorners and some of the edges of the covers are somewhat worn, and there is moderate foxing throught the text. The frontispiece has four figures which show the "stethoscope as invented by the great Laennec" (p. xviii). Laennec first published his findings in French in 1819 and it was published again in 1826 in French in a much extended edition. It was published in English in 1832 in London and New York. As Sharpe was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons it is likely that the British edition preceded the American. The material in brackets in the title was supplied by the British Library Catalogue. This book is an epitome or a condensation put together by Laennec's cousin for students. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 019578

Descripción de la librería: The Chatham Bookseller began in 1968, and, in 1970, opened a store at its present location in Madison, New Jersey. The store contains over 10,000 books and 80 subjects, and favors good used books and good literature over popular books and bestsellers. The store carries hardcover and paperbacks. Our Internet business began in 2001. The approximately 4,000 Internet books and pamphlets are kept on the premises, but cannot be viewed as a whole. However, we can show and sell individual titles upon request. If you can call ahead, it would be appreciated. Unless you have called ahead, we cannot show Internet books on Sundays. We appreciate all of our customers and try to serve them well and fulfill their special needs. The store hours are 9-5:30 Tuesday through Friday except 6:30 on Thursday, 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. The business is owned and operated by Richard Chalfin and Kathy Rodgers
