PRESENTATION COPY with a signed holograph inscription dated May 1912 from the 1904 Nobel laureate in chemistry, Sir William Ramsay (1852-1916), the discoverer of the noble gases, to his personal assistant at University College, London, Irvine Masson (1887-1962). Masson stayed on as a lecturer until taking a Chemistry Chair at the University of Durham in 1938. Masson's ownership signature is on the front free endpaper. A very good, crisp copy.
